Injury-riddled Knicks face lowly Bucks

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - The news keeps getting worse for the depleted New York Knicks, who may may be without star guard Stephon Marbury when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

Already without guard Jamal Crawford (ankle), swingman Quentin Richardson (back) and guard Steve Francis (ankle), the Knicks played most of Friday's 99-94 home loss to Minnesota without Marbury, who is averaging 16.5 points and 5.5 assists.

Marbury left after playing just 11 minutes in the first half with a stiff right turf toe. The veteran point guard attempted a return in the waning seconds but limped around and immediately taken out.

Forward David Lee returned and played 20 minutes after missing 17 of the last 18 games with a right leg injury.

The Knicks have lost 11 of their last 14 games and are three games behind Orlando (34-41) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with just seven contests left.

The Bucks are suffering through an abysmal season thanks to their own rash of injuries. Guard Michael Redd, guard Mo Williams, center Andrew Bogut and forward Charlie Villanueva all are sidelined.

Despite a career-high 36 points by 5-5 guard Earl Boykins, Milwaukee suffered a 115-102 loss to Atlanta on Friday, its eighth loss in nine games. Boykins has 68 points in the last two contests.
