Bulls, Raptors battle for playoff positioning

Apr 8, 2007 - 5:20 PM Chicago (46-31) at Toronto (43-33) 6:00 pm EDT

TORONTO (Ticker) -- With some help from the Chicago Bulls, the Toronto Raptors clinched their first division title. The playoff-bound teams meet on Sunday.

The Raptors posted a 94-85 victory over Philadelphia on Friday but did not seal the Atlantic Division crown until the Bulls beat New Jersey, 105-74, later in the night.

Chicago (46-31) is three games behind first-place Detroit (48-27) in the Central Division but is tied for the second seed with Cleveland (46-31) in the Eastern Conference. Since Chicago and Cleveland are in the same division, only one team can finish as high as the second seed. The other would drop to the fifth seed.

The Bulls, who own the tiebreaker over Cleveland, have won seven of their last eight games

The Raptors (43-33) have won five of their last seven contests. All-Star forward Chris Bosh is averaging 27.2 points and 12.8 boards in his last five games.

Bosh helped the Raptors snap a 15-game losing streak to Chicago on February 13 with 25 points and 14 rebounds in a 112-111 road win.
