Magic seek to hold on to eighth playoff spot

Apr 9, 2007 - 2:51 PM Orlando (35-41) at Milwaukee (26-50) 8:00 pm EDT

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic begin a three-game road trip on Monday when they face the Milwaukee Bucks.

Orlando (35-41) has a one-game lead over Indiana (34-42) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Magic last made the playoffs in 2002-03.

Orlando is 8-15 since the All-Star break, but trails New Jersey (36-40) by just one game for the seventh playoff spot.

Howard scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his 54th double-double of the season in Orlando's 116-89 win over Memphis on Saturday.

However, Orlando has lost 15 of its last 16 visits to the Bradley Center, including a 116-111 defeat on February 6.

The Bucks have lost nine of their last 10 and own the third worst record in the NBA. Michael Redd scored 25 points to lead Milwaukee in Saturday's 118-113 overtime loss to New York.
