Jazz hope to bounce back against Warriors

Apr 9, 2007 - 8:21 PM Utah (48-28) at Golden State (37-40) 10:30 pm EDT

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) - The Utah Jazz look to get over the sting of two straight fourth-quarter collapses when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Monday.

Utah has been outscored, 71-37, in the fourth quarter in its last two contests, squandering a 17-point lead to Sacramento on Friday and a 22-point lead to Seattle on Saturday.

The losses have left the Jazz (48-28) just one-half game ahead of Houston (48-29) in the race for the fourth-best record in the Western Conference and home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

In Friday's defeat, the Jazz were torched by John Salmons for eight points down the stretch. They surrendered 16 fourth-quarter points to Rashard Lewis on Saturday.

The Warriors, who have not made the playoffs since 1994, had a four-game winning streak snapped in a 112-99 loss to San Antonio on Saturday.

Golden State (37-40) is one game behind the Los Angeles Clippers (37-38) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. The Clippers visit Dallas on Monday.

The Warriors have been strong at home this season, posting a 27-11 record, but are just 1-2 overall against Utah.

Warriors point guard Baron Davis may miss the game after suffering a hip pointer in the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss.
