Bulls continue fight for playoff seeding vs. fading Knicks

Apr 10, 2007 - 2:12 PM New York (32-45) at Chicago (46-32) 8:30 pm EDT

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bulls are trying to hold on to the second seed in the Eastern Conference. The New York Knicks just need a win.

The Bulls look to solidify their playoff position Tuesday when they face the New York Knicks.

Chicago is tied with Cleveland for second in the Eastern Conference standings, just one game in front of Toronto.

On Sunday, the Bulls endured a miserable third quarter en route to a 103-89 loss at Toronto. The Bulls were outscored, 31-17, in the period.

Despite the setback against the Raptors, the Bulls have gone 14-5 since February 28.

Losers of 10 of their last 13 games, the Knicks have fallen four games behind Orlando for the East's final playoff spot with just five contests remaining.

Nate Robinson and Eddy Curry each scored 24 points in Monday's 91-83 loss to Detroit.

The Knicks have been been ravaged by injuries to key players, including guard Jamal Crawford (stress fracture ankle), forward Quentin Richardson (back), guard Stephon Marbury (foot) and forward David Lee, who dressed but did not play on Monday with a recurring leg bruise.

New York has lost two of the three matchups this season.
