Pacers look to remain in playoff race vs. Sixers
Apr 10, 2007 - 2:38 PM Indiana (34-42) at Philadelphia (31-45) 7:00 pm EDTPHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Indiana Pacers look to match a season-high three-game winning streak Tuesday when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers.
In danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 1997, the Pacers have lost 18 of their last 23 contests. But they have won their last two contests, putting them within a win of their fifth three-game winning streak of the season.
Indiana is ninth in the Eastern Conference, 1 1/2 games behind Orlando (36-41) for the final playoff spot.
Mike Dunleavy Jr. scored 22 points and Danny Granger added 15 and 10 rebounds, leading the Pacers to a 105-98 victory over Boston on Saturday.
Philadelphia has alternated wins and losses in its last seven games and is holding on to tenuous playoff hopes - 4 1/2 games out with six game left.
The Sixers rallied for a 109-104 overtime win over Atlanta on Sunday. Joe Smith scored a season-high 18 points, including seven in overtime, as the 76ers battled back from a 17-point second-half deficit.
Philadelphia has lost two of the three meetings with Indiana this season.
