Parker, Spurs prep for playoffs, host Kings

Apr 11, 2007 - 3:39 PM Sacramento (32-45) at San Antonio (56-21) 8:00 pm EDT

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) - With little time left to move up in the Western Conference, Tony Parker and the third-seeded San Antonio Spurs want to be ready for a long playoff run.

Parker and the Spurs aim for their ninth straight home win when they face the lottery-bound Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

San Antonio has won 10 of its last 11 games, including Monday's 112-96 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday. Parker scored 30 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the floor in San Antonio's fourth straight win.

It was the second 30-point game in three outings for Parker, who also scored 35 points in Thursday's 92-85 win over Phoenix.

The Spurs (56-21) are chasing the Suns (58-19) for second-best record in the West and home-court advantage in a conference semifinals matchup. However, seeding may not matter for the Spurs, who are 21-3 since the All-Star break.

The Kings (32-45), who will miss the postseason for the first time since 1998, defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, 112-100, on Tuesday. Mike Bibby scored 25 points and Brad Miller added 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for his third career triple-double.

The win snapped a four-game road losing streak for Sacramento, which is just 12-27 away from home. The Kings haven't had much success recently vs. the Spurs, who have won three straight and eight of 10 vs. Sacramento.

San Antonio has won four of five the last five meetings here.
