Iguodala out again as 76ers face Celtics

Apr 11, 2007 - 5:00 PM Philadelphia (32-45) at Boston (23-54) 7:30 pm EDT

BOSTON (Ticker) - The Philadelphia 76ers again will be without leading scorer Andre Iguodala when they visit the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.

Iguodala, who has emerged as Philadelphia's best player since the trade of Allen Iverson, sat out Tuesday's win over Indiana with a strained back. The third-year swingman is the future cornerstone of the team, which is not taking any chances with him.

Philadelphia has won two in a row and is looking to match its second-longest winning streak of the season. The 76ers are 2-1 this season vs. the Celtics, including a 98-83 win here December 22.

Boston (23-54) owns the worst record in the Eastern Conference and second-worst in the NBA behind Memphis (19-59). Should form hold in next month's draft lottery, the Celtics will pick second and have a chance at College Player of the Year Kevin Durant, who declared his eligibility for the draft Tuesday, is coveted by vice president Danny Ainge and is projected as no lower than the second pick.

The Celtics have lost four in a row, including Tuesday's 104-96 setback to Atlanta.
