Bulls try to move into sole possession of second in East

Apr 13, 2007 - 3:06 PM Charlotte (32-47) at Chicago (47-32) 8:30 pm EDT

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bulls look to take sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference standings on Friday when they host the Charlotte Bobcats.

Chicago is tied with Cleveland (47-32) for the second spot, but holds the tiebreaker based on winning the season series.

"We still have to take care of business, not worry about the seeds," Bulls center Ben Wallace said.

Ben Gordon scored 23 points to lead the Bulls to a 98-69 rout of the New York Knicks on Tuesday.

Playing out the string, the Bobcats have won six of their last eight games. They are coming off Tuesday's 92-82 triumph over Miami.

The Bobcats' impressive late-season finish could be due to the return of Emeka Okafor, who has scored in double figures in seven of his past eight contests. He had missed 15 games with an injured calf.
