Utah, Suns continue to push for home-court advantage

Apr 14, 2007 - 3:24 PM Phoenix (60-19) at Utah (49-30) 9:00 pm EDT

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- The Utah Jazz have the Northwest Division already sealed, but home-court advantage would be a nice bonus.

The Jazz look to continue fighting for postseason positioning when they host the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.

With Friday's 104-89 triumph over league-leading Dallas, Utah ended a five-game losing streak and moved within one game of Houston (50-29) for home-court advantage in the opening round of the Western Conference playoffs.

"We're trying to get home-court advantage," Jazz guard Deron Williams said. "We're still playing for a lot right now. It doesn't seem like that when we go out on the court night in and night out."

Utah plays its final three games of the regular season here, where it has posted a 29-9 record.

Steve Nash had 26 points and 14 assists as the Suns won their fourth straight contest - a 93-85 victory over the struggling Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

Phoenix (60-19), which has won the Pacific Division the past three seasons, owns a two-game cushion over the San Antonio Spurs (58-21) for the second seed in the West.

The Suns have lost all three meetings against the Jazz this season and hope to avoid their first season-series sweep since the 1999-00 campaign.
