Nuggets face Timberwolves in regular-season home finale

Apr 16, 2007 - 2:56 PM Minnesota (32-48) at Denver (43-37) 9:00 pm EDT

DENVER (Ticker) - The Denver Nuggets will play their final regular-season home game on Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Nuggets will be the sixth seed in the Western Conference playoffs. They had an eight-game winning streak snapped in a 133-118 loss to Memphis on Saturday.

"We've been playing real well, so we have to forget about that one and just focus on finishing the season strong heading into the playoffs," Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony said.

On Sunday, the Nuggets found out they will facing San Antonio in the first round of the playoffs.

Denver hopes to match its season-high four-game winning streak at the Pepsi Center, set from November 18-26.

The Timberwolves continued to limp toward the finish line after dropping their fifth straight game, a 110-91 decision at Golden State on Sunday.

Minnesota has been without leading scorer Kevin Garnett for the last three games due to a sore right quadriceps. Garnett is not expected to play in the Timberwolves' last two games.
