Detroit starters to get rest in season finale
Apr 18, 2007 - 3:05 PM Detroit (52-29) at Boston (24-57) 7:30 pm EDTBOSTON (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons will rest their starters most of the way in the season finale against the Boston Celtics.
The Pistons can complete a season sweep of the Eastern Conference's worst team with a win on Wednesday.
But that's probably not important to coach Flip Saunders, who has rested his starters liberally since Detroit clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference on April 11.
The Pistons posted a 100-84 victory over Toronto on Tuesday. None of their starters - Tayshaun Prince, Rasheed Wallace, Chris Webber, Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups - played more than 25 minutes.
The Celtics (24-57) snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 91-89 win over Miami on Monday.
