Mavericks conclude stellar season vs. Sonics
Apr 18, 2007 - 3:23 PM Dallas (66-15) at Seattle (31-50) 10:00 pm EDTSEATTLE (Ticker) -- In their final tuneup before the postseason, the Dallas Mavericks aim for their 10th straight win against the Seattle SuperSonics when the teams face off on Wednesday.
The Mavericks already have locked up the best record in the NBA and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. As a result, they have rested their key contributors in recent games.
Dallas started reserves Jose Juan Barea, Maurice Ager, Greg Buckner, DeSagana Diop and Devean George in Tuesday's 111-82 loss at Golden State. Stars Dirk Nowitzki, Josh Howard and Jerry Stackhouse did not even dress.
The Mavericks will play either the Warriors or the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs.
The SuperSonics have lost eight of their last nine contests, including a 109-98 setback against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
Dallas has won all three matchups with the Sonics this season and is looking for its second consecutive season sweep in the series. Seattle's last win over the Mavericks came on December 9, 2004.
