Suns look to regain home court in Game Four
May 14, 2007 - 2:59 PM Phoenix at San Antonio 9:30 pm EDT Western Conference Semifinals Game Four Spurs lead, 2-1SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- After a chippy Game Three that left more players bruised and scarred, the only thing that the Phoenix Suns want to do is chip away at the San Antonio Spurs.
The Suns hope to draw even in the Western Conference semifinals Monday when they visit the Spurs in Game Four of the best-of-seven series.
San Antonio's Manu Ginobili was the latest player to suffer a battle scar in this series. The swingman was scraped just beneath his right eye in Saturday's 108-101 victory, leaving him with a nasty bruise.
It marked yet another gruesome injury in this series, which saw Phoenix point guard Steve Nash suffer a deep cut to his nose in Game One. The two-time MVP's nose bled profusely in the latter stages of the contest, forcing the Suns to keep him off the floor.
Conversely, Ginobili's injury seemed to serve as a sparkplug, as the Argentine scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half.
Tim Duncan was dominant in the paint for the Spurs, collecting 33 points and 19 rebounds.
The Suns, on the other hand, have not overcome the recent struggles of stars Nash and Amare Stoudemire.
Nash finished with 16 points Saturday but was held scoreless in the first half while Stoudemire was saddled with foul trouble throughout the contest, scoring 21 points in just 21 minutes.
