Knicks sweep preseason series against Nets

Dec 22, 2011 - 3:29 AM New York, NY (Sports Network) - Carmelo Anthony netted 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds, leading the New York Knicks to an 88-82 victory over the New Jersey Nets in the preseason finale for both squads at Madison Square Garden.

Amar'e Stoudemire finished with 15 points, while Toney Douglas scored 13 points and grabbed eight boards for the Knicks, who swept the two-game preseason series.

Newly-acquired Tyson Chandler contributed eight points to go with 12 rebounds.

Deron Williams led the Nets with 21 points and seven assists, while Brook Lopez finished with 15 points and nine rebounds. Damion Jones chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds. Shelden Williams ripped down 10 boards for New Jersey.

The Knicks open the NBA season on Sunday with a matinee date at home against the Boston Celtics, while New Jersey will travel to Washington D.C. to face the Wizards on Monday.
