Spurs down Rockets to cap preseason
Dec 22, 2011 - 4:21 AM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Rookie Kawhi Leonard hit the game-winning jumper in the waning seconds of Wednesday's preseason finale, as the Spurs downed the Rockets, 97-95.Tim Duncan scored a team-high 19 points, while Tony Parker had 15 points and five assists for the Spurs, who host the Grizzlies in Monday's regular-season opener.
Houston rookie Marcus Morris netted a game-high 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting in the loss. Both Chase Budinger and Kyle Lowry chipped in 10 points.
The Rockets open the regular season Monday at Orlando.
