Thunder hold off Grizzlies

Jan 11, 2012 - 7:17 AM Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Russell Westbrook poured in 30 points Tuesday and Oklahoma City held off Memphis, 100-95, for its fourth straight win.

Playing for the fourth time in five nights, the Thunder also received 22 points and 11 rebounds from Kevin Durant. He made all eight of his foul shots, including a pair of big ones in the closing minute.

"We came in and played hard in a tough environment and got a good win," said Durant.

Marc Gasol tallied 20 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks for the Grizzlies, who have lost three in a row. Mike Conley ended with 15 points and 10 assists.

Quincy Pondexter hit a shot from beyond the arc to get the Grizzlies within 95-92 with 56.4 seconds left. Memphis then had a chance to possibly tie the game on the following possession after Westbrook missed a jumper, but Rudy Gay lost the ball out of bounds with 25.3 seconds to go.

Durant and Kendrick Perkins both drained two free throws down the stretch to help the Thunder create an eight-point lead in the closing seconds, putting the game out of reach for Memphis.

"We need to become stronger and play together to find a way to win," said Gasol.

The Thunder were up 54-52 after a back-and-forth first half and were in front by as many as eight in the third before holding onto a 75-71 edge going to the fourth.

Game Notes

The Thunder stopped a three-game, regular season skid in Memphis by topping the Grizzlies back on December 28 despite Westbrook's 2-for-16 shooting performance, the worst of his career...Perkins had 13 rebounds...Gay scored 16, but shot 7-of-21 from the field.
