Bucks search for first road win in NYC

Jan 20, 2012 - 3:53 PM (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks are still searching for their first road win of the season and hope to take advantage of a slumping New York Knicks squad tonight at Madison Square Garden.

Milwaukee is 0-8 away from Brew City this season and is off to its worst road start since dropping the first 16 away from home back in 1976-77. It has dropped three in a row overall and eight of 10 games, including Tuesday's 105-95 home loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Brandon Jennings led the Bucks with 30 points and Tobias Harris added 14 for Milwaukee, which got 11 points from Jon Leuer and 10 out of Carlos Delfino. It was Milwaukee's first home loss of the season (4-1).

"I think our energy in the first half was a little suspect," said Jennings. "We tried to come back in the end but it was a little bit too late."

The Bucks will play two straight and four of their next five games on the road. Bucks forward Luc Mbah a Moute (knee) is questionable for Friday. Leuer has scored in double figures in five of his last six games.

New York has hit the skids since a four-game winning streak, having dropped four in a row and the first two tests of a four-game homestand.

The Knicks suffered a 91-88 loss to Phoenix on Wednesday and were led by Amare Stoudemire's 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Iman Shumpert netted a career-high 20 points and Carmelo Anthony, battling a sore ankle and wrist, amassed 12 points and 11 rebounds.

"We can't keep making excuses," Stoudemire said. "We need to start pushing forward and get over the hump offensively."

Tyson Chandler had nine points and a season-best 17 rebounds, while Landry Fields scored 17 points for New York, which is 3-4 at MSG this season and will close out the homestand Saturday versus Denver. Anthony is probable for tonight (personal) and eclipsed the 15,000-point mark in his career. He is fifth in the NBA in scoring with 25.0 ppg.

New York lost three of four meetings with Milwaukee last season and is just 2-10 in the past 12 matchups between the teams. Bucks big man Andrew Bogut averaged a double-double in four meetings with the Knicks last season, posting 14.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.

The Bucks have won five of six trips to the Big Apple.
