Sixers face tough test vs. East-leading Bulls

Feb 1, 2012 - 3:34 PM (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the league's best teams at home this season. Tonight they get a stiff test, as the Chicago Bulls pay a visit to the Wells Fargo Center.

Philadelphia won its third straight home game and improved to 11-2 in its arena on Monday when Andre Iguodala recorded a double-double with 14 points and a season-high 11 rebounds, helping the Sixers get past the Orlando Magic, 74-69.

"That was a much-needed win for us here with what we have ahead of us this week," said Philadelphia coach Doug Collins. "I thought our defense was fabulous until the last three minutes of the game. I was not happy with the way we finished the game."

Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young came off the bench to score 12 and 10 points, respectively, as Philadelphia improved to 4-1 on a seven-game homestand that concludes on Friday against the Miami Heat.

The Sixers, who were again without center Spencer Hawes (Achilles), won despite setting a season-low in points scored. Hawes is questionable for tonight's tilt.

Chicago, meanwhile, bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to Miami on Sunday to crush the hapless Washington Wizards on Monday. Derrick Rose had 35 points and eight assists to help the Bulls beat the Wizards for a seventh straight time, 98-88.

"Rose just had a hell of a game," Washington head coach Randy Wittman said of the reigning MVP. "He's a hell of a player. He made shots, from a man-to-man perspective, that there's nothing you can do (about)."

Carlos Boozer added 18 points and Kyle Korver scored 14 of his 17 points in the first half as the Bulls built a comfortable lead, then held on to avoid losing back-to-back regular season games for the first time in almost a year.

Joakim Noah filled the stat sheet in the win, getting 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.

It was a nice bounce-back game for Rose, who missed a potential tying jumper against the Heat on Sunday. Over his last three games, Rose has scored 34, 34, and 35 points.

"He comes out like it's his will," coach Tom Thibodeau said. "He imposes his will on everybody."
