Pacers dominate Bobcats
Feb 20, 2012 - 4:44 AM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Roy Hibbert had 18 points and 14 rebounds on Sunday in the Pacers' 108-73 shellacking of the Bobcats.Six Pacers reached double digits, led by Hibbert and supplemented by 14 from Danny Granger and David West, 13 from Tyler Hansbrough, 12 from Dahntay Jones and 11 from Darren Collison. Indiana has now won back-to-back games after dropping five in a row.
"It's good to get a win like this," said Hibbert. "It shows if we're tied together on defense early in the game, we can get out to big wins."
On Friday, the Bobcats halted a franchise-worst 16-game losing streak with a win at Toronto, but they trailed by as many as 44 on Sunday. They have yet to win consecutive games this season. Derrick Brown led the way with 16 points while Kemba Walker added 15 and five assists.
The Pacers never trailed in this one.
They opened with a 21-2 spurt and were up 24-12 after one behind eight points from Granger and five from Hibbert. The Bobcats, meanwhile, made just 4-of-22 first-quarter shots.
In the second, a pair of free throws from Collison pushed the Pacers' advantage to 48-28 and they maintained the 20-point cushion, 53-33, at the break.
Despite the sizeable lead, Indiana didn't let up.
It was 64-40 in the third before buckets by West, Collison and Granger pushed the margin to 30. A pair of free throws by Louis Amundson before the buzzer had it at 40, 88-48 and Hansbrough's jumper made it 96-52 in the fourth, marking the Pacers' largest lead of the game.
"The way we started pretty much set the tone for the whole game," Bobcats guard Boris Diaw said. "We were just behind and trying to come back into the game, but it was too late."
