Bulls put win streak on line at Milwaukee

Mar 7, 2012 - 3:57 PM (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bulls eye an eighth straight win this evening when they pay a visit to Milwaukee to face the Bucks at the Bradley Center.

Chicago continued to roll on Monday with an impressive win over fellow Eastern Conference powerhouse Indiana, as Luol Deng scored 20 points in a 92-72 rout.

Derrick Rose added 13 points and nine assists, while John Lucas also had 13 points for the Bulls, who are in the midst of their best run since a nine-game surge to close last season.

"Last time we played them, they beat us here," Rose said. "Now we just have to deal with them, where they put up a fight every time we play them."

At 32-8 the Bulls sit atop not only the Eastern Conference, but with wins in nine of their last 10 they own the best record in the entire league.

All the news was not good, though, as forward Rip Hamilton left the game with a shoulder injury and will likely miss a few games. Hamilton didn't make himself available after the game, but his right arm was immobilized and teammates seemed concerned.

"We just hope we're not without him for awhile," Joakim Noah said. "We need him for the stretch run."

The Bulls, who return home for six games after tonight's contest, are 17-6 away from home this season, winning eight of their last nine as the visitor.

Milwaukee, meanwhile, also enters on a high note after a thrilling win over Philadelphia on Monday. Brandon Jennings dropped in a game-high 33 points and dished out seven assists as the Bucks survived a fourth-quarter rally to escape with a 97-93 win.

Drew Gooden netted 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Ersan Ilyasova finished with 11 points and 18 rebounds for the Bucks, who snapped their three-game skid. Mike Dunleavy donated 10 points in the victory.

"They took a nine-point lead there in the third, but we kept our composure down the stretch and showed enough toughness to close out the win," said Gooden.

Milwaukee may find it difficult to put back-to-back wins together, as it has lost seven straight to the Bulls since the start of the 2010-11 campaign.
