New-look Bucks take on Warriors

Mar 16, 2012 - 3:14 PM (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks have been playing well recently but they were still intent on improving their team at the trade deadline.

The playoff-hopeful Bucks hope to have new acquisitions Monta Ellis and Ekpe Udoh in uniform against their former team when Milwaukee begins a brief two- game road swing against the Golden State Warriors.

The surging Bucks won their fourth consecutive game on Wednesday when Drew Gooden had his second career triple-double, netting 15 points, dishing out 13 assists and grabbing 10 rebounds to help Milwaukee take down Cleveland, 115-105, on Wednesday.

"[Gooden] had a great game," Bucks head coach Scott Skiles said. "Drew's having a very, very good year."

Ersan Ilyasova led all Bucks with 22 points, Mike Dunleavy scored 21 off the bench and Brandon Jennings and Carlos Delfino finished with 17 apiece for Milwaukee, which is in a dead heat with New York for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Warriors, meanwhile, lost for the first time in four games on Wednesday when Kevin Garnett hit the eventual game-winning jumper with 6.6 seconds remaining, lifting the Celtics over Golden State, 105-103, at Oracle Arena.

Garnett broke a 103-103 tie with a 19-footer as the shot clock was winding down, and the Celtics improved to 2-1 on their eight-game road trip after Nate Robinson missed a potential go-ahead three-pointer at the other end.

Klay Thompson, in his second straight start since the trade of Ellis, scored a career-high 26 points for Golden State. David Lee and Robinson chipped in 22 and 20 points, respectively, as the hosts had their three-game win streak snapped.

The Warriors were playing their first home game since a surprising Tuesday deal sent Ellis, Udoh and center Kwame Brown to Milwaukee for Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson.

Golden State, in turn, then sent Jackson to San Antonio for veteran forward Richard Jefferson, the contract of injured guard T.J. Ford and a 2012 first- round draft pick.

The Warriors had lost four straight to the Bucks before recording a 100-94 win in Oakland on Feb. 3.
