Heat aim to rebound in Indy

Mar 26, 2012 - 2:46 PM (Sports Network) - It's quite rare to see the star-studded Miami Heat get handled and that's exactly what happened last night in Oklahoma City.

The Southeast Division-leading Heat will have to shake it off and be ready for the finale of a three-game road trip Monday against the tough Indiana Pacers in the Hoosier State. Miami shot 46.5 percent in Sunday's 103-87 loss to the Thunder and got 22 and 18 points, respectively, from Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. LeBron James ended with 17 points for the Heat, who are seeded No. 2 in the East and had a four-game winning streak cut short.

"They jumped us, everybody saw it," said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. "They were the aggressors. They played more to our identity than we [did], much more physical."

Oklahoma City shot 52.7 percent for the game.

Miami is 15-10 away from South Beach this season and will look to improve on its 27-6 record against teams from the East. It is 12-4 as the visitor in matchups against fellow conference members, and will return home Thursday to host Dallas before hitting the road again to Toronto and Boston.

James has scored in double figures in an astonishing 403 straight games.

Meanwhile, the Pacers have won three of four games since losing six of eight, and recorded a 125-104 victory at Milwaukee the last time out on Saturday.

George Hill scored a game-high 24 points to go along with five assists, while Roy Hibbert added 16 points and nine rebounds. Danny Granger and David West netted 15 points apiece for the Pacers, who made 51.2 percent from the field and sit sixth in the East standings -- one-half game behind Atlanta.

"He comes in and just has the ability to get red hot and make plays," Hibbert said about Hill. "He gave us a huge lift."

The Pacers are 14-7 at home this season, but have dropped two of three as the host. Their 125 points were a season high and the team closed out a set of three games in as many days. Indiana forward Tyler Hansbrough had six points against the Bucks and is listed as questionable for Monday because of a bruised cheekbone.

Granger has scored in double figures in 33 of his last 35 contests. Hibbert has achieved the feat in five straight games. The Pacers are 17-15 against the East this season, going 9-5 at home in that span.

Indiana will try to avoid for being swept in a season series with Miami for the second time in three seasons. The Heat won all four meetings with Indiana in 2009-10 and are 11-4 in the previous 15 matchups in this series. Miami has won four in a row in Indiana after losing 14 in a row there.

The Pacers lead the all-time series, 50-37.
