Durant, Thunder invade Indy

Apr 6, 2012 - 2:39 PM (Sports Network) - The Oklahoma City Thunder weren't able to diffuse the Miami Heat in South Beach, so they'll take their talents to the Hoosier State tonight in a matchup with the Indiana Pacers.

The Western Conference-leading Thunder dropped a tough 98-93 decision to the Heat Wednesday night and received 30 points from Kevin Durant, who accounted for nine of the 20 Oklahoma City turnovers. He also missed a potential tying three-point shot in the final half-minute.

"We did everything we wanted to do out there except for not turning the ball over," Durant said. "That falls back on me."

Russell Westbrook added 28 points for the Thunder, whose lead in the Western Conference is down to a game over San Antonio. The Spurs won at Boston Wednesday night. Oklahoma City has dropped two in a row since ripping off six consecutive victories. James Harden was the only other double-digit scorer with 12 points in the loss.

Oklahoma City has lost two in a row for only the second time this season and last lost three in a row from Feb. 23-27, 2011. It is 17-9 on the road this season.

Indiana is back home for three games versus the Thunder, Celtics and Raptors, and has won three straight and 10 of 15 games.

In a 109-96 victory at Washington Wednesday night, Danny Granger scored 20 points and Darren Collison chipped in 17 and 11 assists for the Pacers, who are seeded third in the Eastern Conference -- 1 1/2 games ahead of both Atlanta and Orlando.

"We have it right now and we have to just keep winning games," said Granger, who's averaging 24.4 ppg in his last five contests. "Things aren't going to get any easier from here on out, we just have to keep winning."

Leandro Barbosa and Tyler Hansbrough both scored 14 points, as Indiana shot a sizzling 57.9 percent from the field and scored 18 points off 13 Washington turnovers. The Pacers will try to build on their 17-7 home mark and have won their last three as the host.

Indiana was swept in a home-and-home set with the Thunder last season, while Oklahoma City has lost four of six and six of its last nine at Indiana.
