Balanced attack helps Wizards drop Bobcats

Apr 10, 2012 - 3:17 AM Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Seven different Wizards finished in double figures as Washington dominated the lowly Charlotte Bobcats 113-85 at Time Warner Cable Arena on Monday.

Jordan Crawford led the way with 20 points and Cartier Martin followed closely behind with 19. James Singleton poured in 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while John Wall scored just two points but did hand out 12 assists as the Wizards snapped a five-game losing streak.

"It always feels good to win," said Martin after the win. "The starters came out and set the tone and the bench came in and we played well tonight."

Corey Maggette scored a game-high 23 points and Kemba Walker finished with 16 points, seven boards and seven assists, but the Bobcats continued to skid, dropping their 12th straight contest.

"We just started off bad from the get go and stayed that way throughout the game," remarked Walker. "Every time we tried to make a push, we couldn't really. It was just a bad one overall."

Washington jumped out to an early 8-0 lead and never looked back, taking a 31-20 lead heading into the second stanza.

A 12-0 run just before the midpoint of the second found the Wizards on top 48-27, after back-to-back three-pointers from Martin, who added another triple with 1:00 left in the half, and Washington took a 60-40 lead into the locker room.

The lead jumped as high as 28 in the third after consecutive treys from Roger Mason Jr. and Martin made it 83-55 with 2:02 left in the third.

A Shelvin Mack jumper just before the third quarter horn sent the Wizards into the fourth with an 85-58 lead.

The margin touched 30 on another three-pointer from Mason with 7:43 left in the fourth as Washington cruised to the road victory.
