Cavs send Bobcats to 13th straight loss

Apr 11, 2012 - 3:11 AM Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Lester Hudson tallied a game-high 25 points with eight rebounds and six assists as Cleveland snapped to attention in the fourth quarter and claimed a 103-90 decision over Charlotte.

Anthony Parker totaled 19 points and Antawn Jamison added 17 and four helpers for the Cavaliers, who have won two of three since a nine-game losing skid.

"Good win. I thought our guys came to play, obviously, from start to finish," said Cavs head coach Byron Scott. "We had a little bit of a lull in the third quarter, to start it, but really picked it up. The second unit, I thought, was fantastic."

Gerald Henderson's 21 points and 16 points with 11 assists from D.J. Augustin weren't enough for the Bobcats, who lost their 13th straight game.

The worst team in the NBA managed to take a 73-72 lead on the first bucket of the fourth quarter, as DJ White hit a jumper. But the Cavs finally surged ahead for good with a monster 23-4 run.

Donald Sloan and Omri Casspi got the burst started with back-to-back jumpers, then Luke Walton and Casspi connected from long distance to make it an 82-73 game for the hosts.

Hudson hit three of the final four buckets in the explosion, the final one a dunk with 5:09 remaining for a 95-77 contest.

Charlotte wasn't able to shrink its deficit under double digits for the remainder.

"Our rebounding was not good tonight," said Bobcats head coach Paul Silas. "(The Cavaliers) rebounded offensively against us. We had guys that would normally get a lot of rebounds for us and didn't."

Cleveland needed an 11-0 spurt to end the opening quarter to escape with a 30-22 edge.

The Bobcats whittled the margin down to four, 49-45, at halftime, then managed to take a 58-53 lead with 6:42 remaining in the third on Augustine's driving lay-in to cap a 13-2 run.

It was a battle to the end of the period, which the Cavs emerged with a 72-71 edge on a Hudson bank shot.
