LeBron, D-Wade lead Heat to rout of Suns
Nov 6, 2012 - 6:48 AM Miami, FL (Sports Network) - LeBron James scored 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and Dwyane Wade poured in 22 points and six assists to lead the Miami Heat to a 124-99 wire-to-wire demolishing of the Phoenix Suns on Monday.Chris Bosh added 18 points -- all in the first half -- and Ray Allen added 15 points, six assists and six rebounds off the bench for the Heat, who have scored at least 119 points in all three of their victories this season.
"I always envision myself getting off to a good start and just setting an offensive tone for myself and if that helps the team, than that's great," Bosh said of his fast start.
Shannon Brown scored a team-high 18 points and Luis Scola added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Suns, who have dropped two in a row.
Marcin Gortat had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds and Goran Dragic scored 13 points and dished out nine assists in the setback.
The Heat dominated the game from the get-go, racing out to a 14-point lead with just over two minutes to play in the first quarter.
The Suns cut it to six with 2.1 seconds left when Dragic nailed a 3-pointer from the top of the key, but Norris Cole buried a half-court buzzer-beater to give Miami a 34-25 spread after one.
"Once they get up, they're just going to execute the rest of the game," Brown said of the Heat. "They have players that are capable of making plays, knocking shots down and finishing so it's tough when they get going like that."
Miami shot 61.9 percent from the floor and was a perfect 3-for-3 from behind- the-arc in the second to take a 65-53 advantage into the break. A 20-foot Wade fadeaway gave the Heat a 17-point cushion at the 8:44 mark, but Phoenix outscored Miami 25-20 the rest of the way to cut the deficit to 12.
The Heat built their lead to 98-74 in the third after converting on 5-of-7 3- pointers. James scored 13 points in the quarter, highlighted by a ferocious fastbreak slam over Gortat.
Miami went up as many as 30 in the final period, but scored just 14 points over the final seven minutes of the game. Bosh played just under nine minutes in the second half and Wade was the only starter to log minutes in the fourth quarter.
