Bucks try to stay unbeaten against Grizz

Nov 7, 2012 - 3:58 PM (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks will try to stay unbeaten on the young season when they welcome the Memphis Grizzlies to the Bradley Center.

Milwaukee disposed of Boston in its season opener last Friday, then handed Cleveland a 105-102 setback on Saturday. Brandon Jennings hit a 3-pointer as time expired and finished with 13 points and 13 assists.

"Once I got the ball with seven tenths of a second, if you (are) just one second late you are kind of beat on it. I just got as high as I could," Jennings said. "I knew once it left my hands and I saw it was straight, I knew it was in."

Jennings had 21 points, 13 assists and six steals on opening night.

Mike Dunleavy poured in a game-high 29 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Bucks, who got 23 points from Monta Ellis and are aiming for their first 3-0 start since winning three straight to commence the 2005-06 campaign. A big advantage for Milwaukee was its 62-15 edge in bench points.

The Bucks had 32 assists against the Cavaliers and went 12-1 when hitting the 30-assist mark last season.

Memphis is in the midst of playing three of four games on the road and won for the second time in a row with Monday's 103-94 decision versus Utah.

Marc Gasol had a game-high 22 points and Zach Randolph contributed 16 points and 18 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who have won a franchise-record 12 straight games at home dating back to last year. Gasol has totaled at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists in every game this season.

"We were amped up, especially myself," Randolph said. "We were amped up for the home opener in front of our crowd. We wanted to come out and do well. Some guys had too much energy like me."

Randolph leads the NBA in rebounding (16.0) through the first three games of the season and is averaging 6.7 offensive rebounds per contest.

Mike Conley added 16 points and Quincy Pondexter posted 14 off the bench. Rudy Gay struggled from the floor and managed to record 15 points. Gay led the Grizzlies in scoring last season (19.0 ppg).

The Grizzlies are 2-0 this season when reaching 100 points and went 17-3 in 2011-12 when hitting the century mark in scoring.

Memphis won the only matchup with Milwaukee last season, posting a 99-95 victory on March 31 in Brew City. The Grizzlies have won the last three meetings with the Bucks.
