Noah helps Bulls continue dominance of Pistons

Dec 8, 2012 - 5:30 AM Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Joakim Noah posted a game-high 30 points and 23 rebounds while adding six assists as the Chicago Bulls downed the Detroit Pistons, 108-104.

Carlos Boozer gave 24 points and six rebounds while Luol Deng and Marco Belinelli each added 16 points for the Bulls, who have won 16 straight games over the Pistons and haven't lost to the team in close to four years.

Rodney Stuckey had 24 points and seven assists, while Brandon Knight gave 21 points for the Pistons, who have lost four of their past five games.

"We had 28 rebounds for the game and Noah had 23. That let's you know how much he wanted to versus how much we wanted it," Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince said.

Chicago held a 6-point lead early in the fourth quarter, but Detroit kept it close and tied the game when Stuckey's layup made it 82-82 with nine minutes to play.

The game stayed close for the next couple of minutes, but a Noah layup followed by a bucket from Boozer gave the Bulls a 96-90 lead with 4 1/2 minutes left.

After Prince hit a bucket to make it a 5-point game, Boozer missed a jump shot. Noah, though, grabbed the offensive board and dished a bounce pass to a charging Boozer, who slammed it home.

"He was everywhere," Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said of Noah. "He had a great all-around game."

A miss from Prince at the other end was followed by a 3-pointer from Deng for a 103-93 lead with 2:36 to play.

Detroit got the next four points, but Chicago followed with a pair of free throws on each of its next two possession to stem any comeback.

The Pistons held a 30-26 lead after one quarter and extended their margin in the second as the team took a 55-50 lead into the break.

Chicago had a strong third quarter and closed the frame with the final five points to help the team take a 78-74 lead into the final frame.
