Nets try to solve Bucks in Brooklyn

Dec 9, 2012 - 3:31 PM (Sports Network) - The last team that the Brooklyn Nets might want to see during their longest losing streak of the season is the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks have been a hand full for the Nets over the past few seasons and look to push their winning streak in this series to 12 straight in Sunday evening's meeting in Brooklyn.

The Nets won their final five games of November, but have opened the new month with three straight setbacks. That includes the first two of a four-game residency, dropping Brooklyn to 7-3 at home this season.

Despite a season-high 32 points from Joe Johnson on Friday, the Nets lost a 109-102 game to the Golden State Warriors. Deron Williams added 23 points and eight assists as Brooklyn shot just 34 percent in the second half after being up eight at halftime.

Without center Brook Lopez for the fourth consecutive game because of a foot injury, the Nets gave up 50 points in the paint and 18 second-chance points, though Andray Blatche had 22 points and 15 rebounds in his place.

"We're definitely missing him," Williams said of Lopez, who has been ruled out for this game. "He's a big part of our team. Hopefully he'll be back soon."

The Nets could have used Lopez tonight given that they have not beaten the Bucks since March 3, 2009 in Milwaukee. The Bucks have swept the series in each of the past three seasons to build their winning streak over the Nets and have won six straight as the guest in this series.

Milwaukee's last loss on the road versus the Nets came on Feb. 3, 2009 in New Jersey.

The Bucks snapped a two-game slide with Friday's 108-93 triumph over the Charlotte Bobcats. It was just Milwaukee's third victory in 10 games, but put it back to .500 at 9-9.

Ersan Ilyasova set season highs with 21 points and 12 rebounds, Marquis Daniels had 18 points and Brandon Jennings logged 15 with eight assists.

The Bucks led 33-20 after the first and the Bobcats got to within nine with 1:24 to play, but Milwaukee scored the game's final six points to seal things.

"We had a little letdown, but we picked it back up and got it back rolling," said Daniels, who had a season high in points and rebounds with six.

Milwaukee forward Mike Dunleavy has missed two straight and three of the past four games with a bone bruise in his left knee. He is questionable for this game.
