Bobcats aim to end skid against streaking Warriors

Dec 10, 2012 - 3:49 PM (Sports Network) - The Charlotte Bobcats look to put the brakes on a seven- game losing streak when they resume a three-game homestand Monday night versus the Golden State Warriors.

The Bobcats' losing trend continued with Saturday's 132-102 blowout loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Kemba Walker scored 23 points, Gerald Henderson netted 13 and Ramon Sessions posted 12 points in Charlotte's fifth straight defeat at home.

San Antonio set a new franchise record as the team made 19 3-pointers in the game (19-of-34). The Spurs shot 55.6 percent from the field.

"They can get you with shooters from all angles and all ways," said Charlotte head coach Mike Dunlap. "So you kind of have to pick your poison in how you want to play them."

Charlotte will close out the homestand versus the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday and is one win shy of eclipsing last season's total (7-59).

Walker has been playing well lately, averaging 21.5 ppg in his last four. He has notched 20-plus points in three of the past four contests and has scored in double figures in 18 of 19 games this season.

The Bobcats hope to keep the score close Monday and are 6-2 this season in games decided by four points or less.

Golden State is perfect (3-0) so far on a season-long, seven-game road trip and recorded a 101-97 victory at Washington the last time out on Saturday.

David Lee recorded a double-double with 24 points and 17 rebounds, while Klay Thompson registered 23 points. Stephen Curry, who left the game briefly in the fourth quarter with a knee issue, added 22 points for the Warriors, who have won 10 of their last 13 games and improved to 7-4 as the guest.

"We've got good momentum right now. The team's playing well," Curry said. "We're finding all sorts of different ways to win. We had to hold on when they were making all those crazy threes at the end, so I'm just glad we got the win tonight."

Curry has scored 20-plus points in seven straight games and is averaging 21.9 ppg over the past 11.

Golden State has won 13 of its first 20 games for just the second time in the past 30 years and is 4-1 in a stretch of nine consecutive games against Eastern Conference opponents. The Warriors are 7-1 against the East this season.

The Warriors still have bouts with Miami, Orlando and Atlanta remaining on the trek. In injury news for Golden State, forward Richard Jefferson is questionable Monday with a strained right calf.

Golden State lost the only meeting with Charlotte last season and has dropped seven of 10 and eight of the past 12 matchups between the teams.
