Kings aim to solve road woes against Hornets

The Kings opened the swing with Friday's 122-108 loss at Atlanta as DeMarcus Cousins ended with 26 points and 13 rebounds in a losing cause. Isaiah Thomas scored 30 points for Sacramento, which lost for the seventh straight time on the road and is just 5-24 away from home.
Atlanta ended the game with a 33-19 advantage in fastbreak points. The Hawks also rallied from a 27-14 hole early on.
"That's effort and energy," Kings coach Keith Smart said. "The effort defensively wasn't there."
Sacramento has lost four in a row overall and eight of 10 games. It will also visit Miami, Orlando and San Antonio on the junket.
Thomas has been shooting well lately for the Kings, averaging 20.5 ppg in the previous six. The Kings are averaging 108.0 ppg in that time.
New Orleans has dropped three in a row since winning two straight and four of five games.
In Friday's 104-100 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, the Hornets blew a four- point lead with 55.5 seconds to go as Mike James and Vince Carter each buried 3-pointers during a game-ending 8-0 run for Dallas.
Eric Gordon and Jason Smith scored 23 and 22 points, respectively, for the Hornets, who got 20 points and 12 rebounds from Ryan Anderson. Rookie Anthony Davis registered 10 points and 11 boards in defeat.
"Any time you lose a game you feel bad, but any time you lose a game that way because of your mistakes, it's worse," said Hornets coach Monty Williams. "They hit some tough shots, but a lot of it was defensive breakdowns."
The Hornets will wrap up the residency Tuesday versus Brooklyn and are 9-17 in the Big Easy this season. Davis has three double-doubles in his last four games and is probable for Sunday's game because of a sprained right knee. He is averaging 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds this season.
New Orleans defeated Sacramento, 114-105, on Jan. 21 this season at home and has won 10 of the past 15 meetings between the Western foes. The Kings have lost 13 of 15 trips to the banks of the Mississippi.
