Spurs lasso Suns to finish successful road trip

Feb 25, 2013 - 4:19 AM Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The San Antonio Spurs didn't look past their lowly foe in the finale of their longest road trip of the season.

Kawhi Leonard led a balanced Spurs attack with 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals in San Antonio's 97-87 rout of the Phoenix Suns.

Six Spurs finished in double figures, including Patty Mills (16), Tiago Splitter (14), Boris Diaw (12), Manu Ginobili (11) and Tim Duncan (10).

San Antonio went 7-2 on its road stretch.

Tony Parker missed his fourth game this year due to a right triceps contusion. The Spurs are 3-1 without him.

Marcin Gortat had 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Suns, who have dropped seven of their last eight games.

Phoenix led 21-19 after a quarter of play, but San Antonio seized control of the contest in the second with a 14-0 run to start the frame.

Mills hit a 3-pointer and sunk all three free throws after being fouled on a three, and Stephen Jackson capped the burst with a triple for a 33-21 Spurs advantage.

The lead swelled to 19 before the visitors took a 54-40 cushion into the break. San Antonio took a 78-61 spread into the final frame and the margin reached its apex at 21 in the fourth.
