Nets visit Big Easy for battle with Hornets

Both of Brooklyn's recent losses came inside the Barclays Center, so a trip away from New York may be just what the Nets need. It won't be a long trek as the Nets are back home Friday night for a tilt with the Dallas Mavericks.
This past Friday, the Nets fell to the Houston Rockets, 106-96, then, two days later, lost to the Memphis Grizzlies, 76-72.
"It was a tough loss, it was a tough night," said Nets forward Reggie Evans. "We just got to be able to finish the game."
The Nets lost when the officials changed a late goaltending call to a foul and Memphis' Tony Allen buried two free throws with just under 20 seconds left. After a timeout, Brooklyn's Deron Williams coughed it up and Mike Conley made two more foul shots to ice the victory.
Williams led the way with 24 points. C.J. Watson netted 11 points and Andray Blatche added 10.
The Nets were without the services of shooting guard Joe Johnson, who missed both of these losses with a foot issue. He is listed as questionable for Tuesday.
"We definitely miss Joe," Williams said after the Grizzlies loss. "We count on him so much, especially in the closing minutes of close games like that."
The Hornets won last time out, a 110-95 victory at home on Sunday over the Sacramento Kings. That win snapped a three-game losing streak for New Orleans, a team that hadn't won since the All-Star break.
First overall pick, Anthony Davis paced a well-balance Hornets' attack with 20 points and eight rebounds.
"I was just being active," Davis said.
Six Hornets players scored in double figures as Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson contributed 17 points apiece. Roger Mason, Jr., Robin Lopez and Greivis Vasquez also cracked the 10-point mark on Sunday.
Tuesday's game will feature a battle of twin big men.
Brook Lopez, the All-Star starting center for the Nets, and his twin brother Robin, New Orleans' pivot man, will face each other.
The Hornets have taken seven of the last nine in this series and the Nets have dropped four in a row in New Orleans.
