Lawson had 21 points and 11 assists in the Denver Nuggets' 107-92 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Lawson did not turn the ball over and Danilo Gallinari added 20 points, five rebounds and six assists for Denver, which has won seven games in a row. The Nuggets improved to 27-3 at home, tied for the best mark in the league with the Miami Heat.
Denver is two games behind Los Angeles in the loss column for the third seed in the Western Conference.
"Our mission since day one was to get homecourt advantage," Lawson said. "We keep this streak going I think it's very possible we can get to (the) fourth and possibly even third (seed)."
Andre Iguodala finished with 14 points and seven helpers, Wilson Chandler and Andre Miller netted 12 points apiece off the bench and Kenneth Faried rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 in the triumph.
Blake Griffin poured in 17 points and Paul registered 16 points and 10 assists for the Clippers, who had won five of their last six tilts coming in.
"They're a good team, they forced the tempo," LA head coach Vinny Del Negro said.
The contest was tied 49-49 at the break, but the Nuggets ran past the Clippers in the third.
Griffin's turnaround bank shot gave LA a 60-59 edge, but Denver responded with a 20-4 surge. Iguodala had a pair of 3-pointers and Lawson converted two layups during the swing, which was highlight by Lawson's half court, alley-oop connection with Gallinari.
Denver led 85-75 after three and the Clips never got within less than eight in the final frame.
Earlier, the hosts jumped out to a 27-25 cushion after the opening stanza.
