Paul and Clippers thump Sixers

Paul, after committing seven turnovers in a setback in Sacramento on Tuesday, totaled 19 points, nine assists, six rebounds and five steals in the resounding triumph.
Caron Butler added 14 points, while Willie Green and Jamal Crawford chipped in 13 and 12, respectively, for a Clippers attack that connected on 53 percent from the field.
Jrue Holiday epitomized Philadelphia's struggles, as the All-Star point guard was 1-ofo-8 from the field for two points.
"Their defense was tremendous. They did a good job of trapping Jrue," Sixers head coach Doug Collins said.
Spencer Hawes put up 16 points, seven boards, seven assists and four blocks in the loss.
The Sixers were coming off a successful 3-1 homestand, but continued their struggles on the road, where they have lost 14 straight.
After playing to a 20-20 tie in the opening quarter, the Clippers began making headway with an 8-0 run to start the second frame.
The hosts went into the break with a 46-36 cushion, and a 9-0 run capped by a Green 3-pointer pushed the margin to 66-46 with under five minutes to go in the third.
It was a 74-58 game with 12 minutes to play, and with another tough matchup in Denver on Thursday, the Sixers rested their starters with the outcome no longer in doubt.
"We picked up the rhythm in the second quarter and pulled away," Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro said. "In the second half our activity was better and our intensity was better. It was a solid win for us."
Game Notes
Philadelphia's last win as a visitor came at Staples Center against the Lakers on New Year's Day. It is the club's longest road skid during a season since a 20-game drought back in 1987-88 ... Thaddeus Young had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Sixers ... Blake Griffin shot 2-of-9 for seven points for LA, but grabbed nine rebounds and handed out six assists.
