Suns vie to end slide versus Hornets

The Suns' woes continued with Friday's 111-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors as Goran Dragic netted 32 points on 11-of-13 shooting and sank four of his seven 3-point attempts.
Michael Beasley tallied 25 points off the bench and Jermaine O'Neal clocked 15 in a reserve role for the Suns, whose losing streak stayed intact despite shooting 61.1 percent for the game. Golden State, though, scored 31 points off 22 Phoenix turnovers.
"For us to shoot 61 percent and still lose is mindboggling, but we had 22 turnovers in some crucial situations during the game," Suns interim coach Lindsey Hunter said.
Phoenix is winless in its last six home games and 16-23 at U.S. Airways Center this season. The Suns will open a three-game road trip Tuesday against Houston, Dallas and Minnesota.
Meanwhile, the Hornets will resume their five-game road trip Sunday and fell to 0-2 on the sojourn following Friday's 95-83 loss at Utah.
Rookie Anthony Davis led the Hornets with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Greivis Vasquez had 21 points and nine assists for New Orleans, which is 10-27 away from the Big Easy and winless in eight straight on the road.
"We certainly competed tonight," said Hornets coach Monty Williams. "We couldn't make a shot."
Williams' squad is only 3-19 on the road against teams from the West and will also visit the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings.
New Orleans and Phoenix have split a pair of meetings this season with each team prevailing on its home floor. The Hornets ended a four-game slide in the last meeting between the teams, a 93-84 triumph on Feb.6.
These two teams have split the last 10 meetings at Phoenix.
