Wizards top Cavaliers with fourth-quarter comeback

Oct 15, 2006 - 2:25 AM CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The Washington Wizards did not need Gilbert Arenas to stage a furious fourth-quarter comeback.

Antonio Daniels scored 15 points and Roger Mason had a huge fourth quarter as the Wizards posted a 93-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in a preseason contest.

Arenas, who finished fourth in the NBA in scoring last season, had only three points and did not play in the fourth quarter. However, Washington still outscored Cleveland, 33-18, in the final period to secure the victory.

Daniels shot 6-of-7 from the field in only 11 minutes and Mason made 4-of-10 shots and connected twice from behind the arc, netting all of his 11 points in the closing period.

Donell Taylor added 12 points for Washington.

LeBron James collected 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Cavaliers. Shannon Brown and Daniel Gibson - the team's draft picks this summer - scored 10 points apiece and nailed a combined five 3-pointers.

Drew Gooden did not play for the Cavaliers due to a left quadriceps injury.
