Sixers go for home-and-home sweep against Cavs

Nov 9, 2013 - 3:58 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers will complete a home-and-home series on Saturday night as the action shifts to Quicken Loans Arena.

On Friday, the Sixers buried the Cavs, 94-79 in Philadelphia. Evan Turner led the way with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists and Tony Wroten came off the bench to score a career-best 18 points.

"It's a great feeling," explained Wroten. "All the hard work paid off. Just being able to get the opportunity here, being able to play a lot. It's a blessing."

The Sixers trailed by 14 after the first quarter, but dominated the next two to the tune of 63-33. The lead was as many as 19 in the fourth quarter and Philly cruised to victory.

Thaddeus Young chipped in 16 points, followed by 11 each from James Anderson and Michael Carter-Williams. Spencer Hawes was in foul trouble most of the night, but still managed 10 points.

The biggest storyline of the night was Andrew Bynum's return to Philadelphia.

Bynum sat out the entire 2012-13 season with knee problems after joining the Sixers in a four-team swap. The 7-footer rehabbed and signed a two-year deal with Cleveland this past offseason.

Bynum was booed lustily when he took the floor pregame, then when he checked in and pretty much every time he touched the ball. He finished with four points in 18 minutes.

"It was just another game for me," said Bynum. "I thought it was a little weak. Honestly, I thought it was going to be much worse."

Bynum laughed off most of the jibes, but head coach Mike Brown was in no joking mood following the loss. The Cavs only shot 33.3 percent from the field and allowed the Sixers to shoot 47.6 percent.

"We need some grittiness and some toughness to surface, especially on the road," said Brown. "Right now it's not happening, and I don't know if it's because we don't have the home crowd giving us a little extra energy or what it is."

Dion Waiters paced the Cavs with 18 points. Tristan Thompson, Jarrett Jack and C.J. Miles each scored 13 points and Kyrie Irving only managed 10 points on 4- for-17 shooting.

The Sixers have won three straight over Cleveland and nine of their last 10 over the Cavs. Philly has also taken four of five on the road in this series.
