Wolves seek first win over Lakers since 2007

Love has been unbelievable thus far this season. He is averaging 27.2 ppg, 14.7 rpg and 5.0 apg in the early part of this campaign. The scoring figure puts him second in the league and that rebounding number is tops.
That puts Love in MVP territory, but Kevin Martin has been a revelation as well. Martin is averaging 23.3 ppg as he's thrived under Rick Adelman's system, a system he thrived under during his tenures under Adelman in Sacramento and Houston.
"I mentioned from the get-go that we're fortunate for him to have played in Rick's corner offense, so he knows when to pick his spots," Love said of Martin. "He's a guy that plays great in the fourth quarter and down the stretch. He's a shot-taker and a shot-maker for us. And I know he's going to be doing that all season."
Both players scored 32 points in a 116-108 home victory Friday over the Dallas Mavericks. Corey Brewer notched 17 points and Nikola Pekovic managed 15 points against the Mavs.
Minnesota, last season's worst 3-point shooting team, shot 40 percent from beyond the arc against Dallas.
The Wolves will have their work cut out for them on Sunday because their recent history against the Lakers is horrendous. Minnesota has lost 22 straight to the Lakers with their last victory coming on Mar. 6, 2007.
The Lakers fell to the New Orleans Pelicans, 96-85 on Friday night in the Big Easy.
Steve Nash didn't play since it was the second night of a back-to-back. The Lakers struggled to 38.8 percent from the floor and only forced nine Pelicans turnovers.
"I thought we came out and we weren't ready to play," Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We didn't play with intensity. We needed everybody to be present and they weren't."
Chris Kaman led the Lakers with 16 points on 7-for-13 shooting. Nick Young and Steve Blake scored 13 apiece, followed by 11 from Jodie Meeks and 10 from Jordan Farmar. Jordan Hill grabbed 13 rebounds and Pau Gasol only managed nine points and 11 boards.
Minnesota's last win on the road over the Lakers came on Dec. 2, 2005. Wally Szczerbiak had 34 points in the win.
