Cavs, Bobcats tangle at the Q

The Cavs went 0-2 on a recent road trip to go 0-6 away from home. The 3-0 mark at the Q is impressive, but Wednesday's 124-95 rout in Minnesota at the hands of the Timberwolves was bad.
The Wolves had 70 points at the half and 108 after three quarters. Their lead was 32 at that point and Cleveland coach Mike Brown emptied the bench. Every player in a Cavs uniform got at least seven minutes of action, but this was a distressing performance.
"After a performance like that you are concerned," admitted Brown. "It was a good team, on their floor, you get concerned about a performance like that. Again, I thought we fought."
Kyrie Irving led the way with 20 points, followed by 13 from Anderson Varejao and 10 from Tristan Thompson.
Cleveland let the Wolves shoot 55 percent from the floor and 50 percent from 3-point range.
Andrew Bynum is still away from the team tending to a family medical emergency.
The Bobcats got into the win column after a two-game slide thanks to an 89-83 road win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
Al Jefferson recorded his first double-double as a member of the Bobcats with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Gerald Henderson, Anthony Tolliver, Jeff Taylor and Ramon Sessions also scored in double figures.
"We started yesterday in practice and continued this morning through shootaround. I didn't know if we'd win, but I think I told these guys before the game I thought we would play well because we had the right attitude, and I thought we played with that," said Bobcats head coach Steve Clifford. "Things didn't go our way, there were some tough breaks, and guys just kept going through it."
The Bobcats head into Friday's tilt tied for fourth in the NBA in opponents' scoring. However, Charlotte is 29th in scoring, ahead of only the 1-8 Utah Jazz.
Charlotte beat the Cavs, 90-84 on Nov. 1. Jefferson didn't even play in that one due to an ankle injury.
The Bobcats are 2-6 in their last eight against the Cavs and have dropped four straight at the Q.
