Suns open road trip in Charlotte
Nov 22, 2013 - 3:04 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - So much for that 5-2 start. The Phoenix Suns are beginning to level off and will try to stop a four-game losing streak Friday against the Charlotte Bobcats in the opener of a three- game road trip.
Phoenix will also make a tour through Florida against Orlando and Miami.
The Suns are coming off Wednesday's 113-106 setback versus the Sacramento Kings, as Goran Dragic scored 31 points and Gerald Green added 23 as Eric Bledsoe's replacement. Bledsoe is bothered by a bruised shin and is probable for Friday.
"We have to go back to the drawing board and figure out what we were doing the first seven games that we played well and try to figure out what we are doing wrong," Green said.
Green made six of the Suns' 15 3-pointers and is averaging 17.7 points in six starts this season.
The Suns, who had 17 turnovers converted to 20 Sacramento points, have yet to lose by double digits under first-year head coach Jeff Hornacek. The Kings never trailed in the second half.
Phoenix is mired in a three-game road losing streak and is just 1-4 away from US Airways Center this season.
Charlotte ended a two-game skid with Monday's 95-91 victory over the Brooklyn Nets and have won three of five games.
Kemba Walker led all scorers with 31 points, while Gerald Henderson and Ramon Sessions each chipped in 13 points for the Bobcats. Walker made 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and has scored in double figures in 32 of his last 36 games dating back to last season.
"It was a good night for me," Walker said. "Hopefully I can continue it."
The Bobcats were without forward Al Jefferson for a fourth straight game due to a balky ankle and he is questionable for Friday.
Charlotte lost both meetings with Phoenix last season and is winless in the past three matchups between the teams.
