Hawks hope to continue dominance over Magic

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks will look to continue their domination of the Orlando Magic when the two teams meet at Philips Arena on Tuesday night.

The Hawks have won 11 straight against Orlando, including a 104-94 home victory on Nov. 9.

Atlanta had a two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday thanks to a 94-87 home loss to the Boston Celtics. The Hawks squandered an 11-point lead with 9:30 left to play for only their second home loss of the season.

"We realize we gave away a game against Boston," guard Lou Williams said after practice on Monday. "We felt like that was a game we should have won, so tomorrow we'll come in a little edgier, a little bit more aggressive and try to protect home court."

Al Horford led the way for the Hawks against the Celtics with 18 points. Jeff Teague had 13 and 10 assists, while Paul Millsap added 12. Mike Scott netted 10 off the bench.

Kyle Korver went 1-for-2 from beyond the arc to push his streak of consecutive games with a made 3-pointer to 87 straight. The NBA record is 89 set by Dana Barros, so that mark could be tied Wednesday and broken on Friday.

The Magic have hit a rough spot, losing four straight and seven of their last eight. Orlando is the only Eastern Conference team without a road victory yet this season.

Their last loss came at home, a 104-96 setback to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. It was not just Orlando's fourth consecutive loss, it was Orlando's fourth straight contest giving up over 100 points. The Magic are 23rd in the NBA in opponents' points allowed.

Nikola Vucevic led Orlando with 20 points and 10 rebounds against the Suns. Andrew Nicholson had 19, followed by 16 from Arron Afflalo and 15 from Jameer Nelson.

The Magic are getting healthy during this demanding stretch. Glen "Big Baby" Davis returned on Saturday after missing 10 months due to a fractured bone in his foot.

On Sunday against the Suns, Tobias Harris made his season debut after missing 12 games with a high ankle sprain. He scored six points in just over 16 minutes of action.

"I'm real excited. I've been waiting for a long time and it's going to be a great feeling to get back out there and help my team," said Harris, who averaged over 17 ppg in a few months with the Magic last season. "I see a lot of things out there that I could personally be doing to help our team out. I appreciate the game a lot more having been out and I know I can't take it for granted."

Both Harris and Davis are expected to be available on Tuesday.

The last time Orlando beat the Hawks was Nov. 8, 2010. The Magic have lost seven straight in Atlanta.
