Wall, Nene lead Wizards over Lakers

Wall had 31 points, nine assists and six rebounds as the Washington Wizards defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 116-111, on Tuesday night.
Wall, who netted all 13 of his fourth-quarter points in the final 4:40, has scored more than 30 points in three consecutive games.
Nene added a career-high 30 points, while Martell Webster tallied 20 points, nine rebounds and four steals for Washington, which has won four of its last five games.
"This was just another gut check...and we made some plays down the stretch," Wizards head coach Randy Wittman said.
Beal was diagnosed with a stress injury to his proximal right fibula Tuesday. The team said the 2012 No. 3 overall draft pick will be sidelined for the next two weeks and then be re-evaluated. Beal missed the final eight games of his rookie season because of a stress injury in the same leg.
Jordan Farmar had 22 points and eight assists, while Pau Gasol finished with 17 points and eight assists for the Lakers, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.
A Webster 3-pointer staked Washington its largest lead, 96-87, with 7:38 remaining before Xavier Henry's three-point play capped a 9-2 flurry to pull the Lakers within 98-96.
Gasol's layup with 1:54 left gave the Lakers a 108-107 lead, but Wall's jumper 20 seconds later put Washington right back in front. After a Los Angeles shot clock violation, Nene drove in for a layup and following a Garrett Temple steal, Wall sank two free throws to make it 113-108 with 28.9 seconds on the clock.
"We didn't get stops when we needed to," Farmar said. "We're still trying to grow and figure it out."
Gasol's three-point play whittled the gap to 113-111 with 24.5 ticks left, but Wall made three free throws to seal the outcome.
Washington, which shot a blistering 72.2 percent in the opening frame, led 31-29 after one and 59-55 at the break.
The Wizards took an 82-77 advantage into the fourth.
