Bulls try for a win on Circus Trip, visit Detroit
Nov 27, 2013 - 3:25 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bulls will try again for a win on their current road trip when they visit the Detroit Pistons Monday night. The Bulls fell to 0-4 on their six-game trek following Monday's 89-83 overtime loss at Utah. Carlos Boozer had a game-high 26 points with 16 rebounds and Luol Deng chipped in a double-double, scoring 24 points with 10 boards.
"We struggled to score early," said Chicago head coach Tom Thibodeau. "We fought to get out of the hole. We were in position to win down the stretch and didn't get it done."
Chicago is playing without star guard Derrick Rose (knee) and will also visit Cleveland on this current jaunt.
The Bulls are 1-7 as the guest this season.
Detroit will continue its four-game homestand and has won two in a row since losing two straight.
The Pistons opened their homestand with Monday's 113-94 victory over the struggling Milwaukee Bucks, as Brandon Jennings registered 15 points and 13 assists and Greg Monroe added 16 points and six rebounds.
Rodney Stuckey scored 17 points off the bench and Andre Drummond added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Pistons.
"Right now, the East is really shaky. So if we can win the next two games, we can be the third team in the East the way it's shaping up right now," Jennings said. "That's where my head is at and hopefully, that's where everybody else's head is at."
Detroit still has the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers to play on its current homestand.
The Bulls took three of four meetings with Detroit a season ago and have won 23 of the previous 26 matchups between the teams. The Bulls are 10-3 in the last 13 games at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
