Chris Paul added 15 points and seven assists, but suffered a strained right hamstring. JJ Redick tallied 15 points in the win. DeAndre Jordan had 13 rebounds and Jamal Crawford scored 13 for LA, which has won three in a row and eight of its last 10 games.
"We'll take the win, but there are things we have to work on," Griffin said. "We held them to a pretty decent percentage."
The Clippers, who were coming off a franchise-record 39-point win over the Bulls on Sunday, limited the Knicks to 6-of-19 shooting in the fourth quarter.
Carmelo Anthony had 27 points and nine rebounds for the Knicks, who also received 20 points, 10 boards and four blocks from Andrea Bargnani. New York shot 38.6 percent from the field.
"We had good looks, but we're not making shots," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said. "Our defense was solid. We have too many gaps right now."
Paul suffered his injury late in the third quarter and limped to the locker room. Darren Collison came in for Paul when the Clippers held a 71-61 lead.
"I strained my hamstring a little bit. It's a little tight," Paul said. "But I'll be ready Friday. I'm all right, I'm alive."
The Knicks closed within 74-68 after three and J.R. Smith had a layup to start the fourth quarter. The Clippers, though, scored the next nine points, which was capped by a Collison layup.
New York didn't threaten the rest of the way.
The Clippers held a 29-27 lead after 12 minutes and a 49-45 edge at the half.
