Love, Wolves make a stop in Milwaukee

(SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves look to stay on track when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks Saturday at the Bradley Center.

Love is averaging 30.5 points per game in his last nine and has scored at least 20 points in each of those games. He has recorded five straight double- doubles, is third in the NBA in scoring (25.9 ppg) and first in rebounding (13.8 rpg).

The Timberwolves received 25 points and 11 rebounds from Love in Friday's 120-98 drubbing of the Washington Wizards. The win came after dropping back- to-back decisions to both Los Angeles squads. Nikola Pekovic posted 18 points and 10 rebounds, J.J. Barea added 17 points off the bench and Alexey Shved netted 13 in a reserve role.

Minnesota shot 49.4 percent (42-of-85) and committed only five turnovers. It led by as many as 24 points.

"We shot 49 percent," said Wolves head coach Rick Adelman. "Especially after the start of the game we were in the 20's there for a while. It's just something we gotta keep working on now that this game is over we gotta figure it out tomorrow against Milwaukee."

The T'Wolves, who are just 5-11 on the road and winless in three straight as the visitor, will start a three-game homestand Monday versus Dallas, New Orleans and Oklahoma City.

Meanwhile, the Bucks have dropped two in a row and seven of eight games, including Friday's 104-93 setback against the Brooklyn Nets.

Giannis Antetokounmpo ended with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Khris Middleton chipped in 15 points and eight boards and O.J. Mayo netted 13 off the bench for Milwaukee, which shot 37.5 percent for the game and sank only 9-of-32 from 3-point range.

"We just have to be better," said Bucks head coach Larry Drew. "On the road we have to have more of a road mentality. We've got to be a little bit more selective with our shots. We can't turn the basketball over and we have to control the boards."

Following Saturday's game versus the Wolves, Milwaukee, which is 3-11 in Brew City, will head west to take on the Lakers, Utah and Phoenix.

Milwaukee dropped both meetings with Minnesota last season, but is 7-2 in the past nine as the host in this series.
