Griffin, Clippers play host to Suns

Dec 30, 2013 - 4:24 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - Blake Griffin has been on a tear of late and will try to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to another win Monday versus the Phoenix Suns at Staples Center.

Griffin has scored at least 35 points in his last two games and has reached the 30-point mark three times in the last four contests. He had 40 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's 98-90 win over the Jazz and has posted six straight double-doubles.

Chris Paul nearly registered a triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists for the Clippers, who have now defeated the Jazz seven straight times and are 8-3 in their last 11 games.

"I think Blake's confidence is high right now," said Paul. "He's fun to watch. Blake works hard day in and day out."

The Clippers are 13-2 at home and will also welcome Charlotte to town on this three-game homestand.

Phoenix has won nine of its last 11 games and recorded a 115-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.

Miles Plumlee had a career-high 22 points with 13 rebounds, while Goran Dragic had 21 points, Eric Bledsoe scored 20 and Marcus Morris added 18 off the bench for the Suns, who bounced back from a 29-point road loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday.

"It was not a pretty game but in the end we'll take the win every day," said Dragic.

The Suns are 7-7 away from the desert and dropped three of four meetings with the Clippers last season. Phoenix, though, is 15-5 in the past 20 matchups with the Clippers and has won six of 10 games as the guest in this series.
