Pacers continue road trip in Phoenix

Jan 22, 2014 - 3:34 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Indiana Pacers got their western road trip off to a good start and will take their five-game winning streak into Phoenix for a matchup with the Suns at US Airways Center.

The Pacers recorded a 102-94 win at Golden State on Monday, as Paul George led five Indiana players in double figures with 23 points.

Lance Stephenson almost posted a triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, while David West finished with 17 points for the Pacers, winners in five straight and eight of nine games.

"I felt good coming off screens, dribbling the ball and hitting some shots," said George. "It's just tough running around with those guys and still having legs to make shots at the end. That's really what the toughness was."

Roy Hibbert had a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards, and George Hill scored 15 points to round out the double-digit scorers.

Indiana has an NBA-high 33 wins on the season and will also visit Sacramento, Denver and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pacers are 12-6 as the visitor this season.

Phoenix is 2-1 on a five-game homestand and is coming off Sunday's 117-103 triumph over the Nuggets.

Channing Frye scored a season-best 30 points on 12-of-16 shooting for the Suns, who are 14-6 as the host. Markieff Morris and Goran Dragic netted 16 and 15 points, respectfully, in the win.

"It's always big when Channing makes shots," said Suns coach Jeff Hornacek. "Every time he touches it you think he's going to make it."

The Suns will end the homestand versus Washington on Friday and are playing the Pacers for the first time since losing both meetings last season. Phoenix, though, is 11-4 in the past 15 games in this series and has prevailed in 10 of the last 13 encounters as the host.
