Bucks seek back-to-back wins for 1st time, visit Cavs

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Cavaliers will resume their five-game homestand Friday versus the Milwaukee Bucks at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavaliers are 0-2 on the stay after losses to Dallas and Chicago, and dropped a 98-87 decision to the Bulls on Wednesday. Kyrie Irving scored 26 points and Dion Waiters added 15 points off the bench for the Cavaliers, who have dropped four of six games overall.

"I feel like we definitely showed spurts here and there where we just looked really good. There were other times when we looked discombobulated on both ends of the court," Irving said. "That has been happening throughout the season. We're just trying to make strides, not only in the games, but also in practice."

Luol Deng, who was traded from Chicago to Cleveland earlier this month, provided 11 points and five rebounds against his former club.

Cleveland still has Phoenix and New Orleans to host and is 10-10 at Quicken Loans Arena this season.

The Bucks finally tasted victory in the new year and will try to post back-to- back victories for the first time this season Friday night. They halted a nine-game slide with Wednesday's 104-101 victory versus Detroit, as Caron Butler scored 30 points and Brandon Knight added 16 and nine assists.

Ersan Ilyasova and John Henson finished with 12 points apiece for Milwaukee, which made 48.8 percent of its shots. Detroit led at the end of each of the first three quarters, but the Bucks battled to the end.

"We really needed that win. I loved our energy in the first half, and we came in here emphasizing that we can't come out flat in third quarter, it has been our Achilles' heel all season," said Butler. "I thought we did, but we bounced back, got the crowd into the game and they supported us. We rolled with that momentum."

Milwaukee will try to stop a six-game road losing streak and is only 4-18 away from the Bradley Center this season.

In injury news for the Bucks, guard O.J. Mayo and center Larry Sanders are questionable against Cleveland because of illness.

The Bucks and Cavs have split two meetings this season, but Milwaukee has won 10 of the previous 13 contests between the Central foes. Milwaukee has lost 16 of its last 21 trips to the Q.
